Scam.. or not? I got a real check for $5000

I recieved one of those about 10 years ago. The bank sent me to the Postal Service and they had all kinds of info. Mine ended up being from Nigeria, it was a washed, bleached etc money order that originated in some other country. Crazy...

I brought my laptop that has an onboard camera. I'm sure I looked like a crazy person, running around the outskirts of Lafayette, waving a laptop all over the place... but that's because I am a crazy person that happened to be doing just that!

I've received a few emails asking me to repost the videos from this thread. They were uploaded to my myspace 7 years ago, which was deleted a long time ago. I just uploaded them to youtube, so here are the updated links.

It's kind of weird that all anyone needs is your account number & routing number to make charges on your account.
Last year I found out we can also now make our own checkbooks, not from the bank, & no one anywhere verifies you're the owner of the account.
So basically, anyone who has that info could make their own checkbook.
