Hi everyone, I hope someone has dealt with buying things from an overseas seller and can advise me.
I have the opportunity (I think) to buy a musical instrument (not a bass) from a guy in Poland, and I want opinions on whether the whole thing sounds legitimate. It's enough money that it would be very disappointing to get ripped off.
Anyone who has such experience, can you read what he has written below, and give an opinion?
"1. I go to a local ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. office and deliver the package to you.
2. They inspect the package content (they check if it works and if it isn't stolen).
3. They will send you an invoice by email with all transaction details (details on product inspection, delivery name and address, payment options).
4. You have 2-3 days to make the payment for the escrow transaction to them (By one of the payment methods accepted by them - usually they accept bank transfer to their company bank account).
5. Once your payment is confirmed by them, the package is delivered to you.
6. You will receive it within 5 working days. You will have 10 working days to inspect and test the product to make sure it is exactly as I told you.
7. After the Inspection period of 10 working days you need to confirm to ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. your decision (if you want to buy it or not).
8. If you decide to buy it, they will transfer me the funds.
9. If you decide not to buy it (if it is not as I told you, if it is damaged or if it is not working properly) they will deliver it back to me on my cost. Also they will send you the money back.
As you can see, this is the best way for both of us. If you accept the terms and you wish to do this transaction with this company, please send me your complete name and address, including your phone number. As soon as I have your details, I will go and deliver the package and start the escrow transaction."
