I like the super glue idea actually.
Super glue was developed by the army during the Vietnam war. It was used by field medics to glue together traumatic injuries. So, it is totally safe to use on skin. When it is really dry in the winter sometimes my skin will crack from playing too much. I just super the skin back together. I will then put a thin coat of super glue over my plucking fingertips. Lasts for a few days usually with heavy playing. It's a little weird at first because you can't really feel with the fingertips. But, it doesn't interfere with playing after a few minutes adjustment.
