Scarlett 2i2 and Darkglass Question

So i'm recording as of right now and have reached a problem of some sorts. I'm recording part of a song and i need a lot of distortion for it to sound good in the mix, which is a problem since i sold my Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra pedal which would have been perfect. I thought of a solution so hear me out. I still got the 900W amp version of the pedal and a Scarlett 2i2 so i want to know if it would work if i connected the speaker output on the amp with a 1/4 cable to the Scarlett 2i2 input and from there to my pc. I'm worried as it might damage my amp and interface.

EDIT: I have realised that the amp has a DI output that i have legit never noticed before.

These are the connectors you want to use.
I assume the PRE DI is the clean input signal, and POST DI will have all the amp tone. You could record them both at the same time and then mix to taste.
