Scarlett 2i2 with Spector Active Bass

Hi guys, just upgrading from a focusrite Itrack solo to use with a MacBook and Logic Pro.
Is the 2i2 a good choice for primarily using a Spector bass with active pups? Is the 4th gen worth the extra over the 3rd gen?
I wanted to have two inputs to split my signal.
Any other interface suggestions which would be suitable are also welcome.
I know there’s no pad with the 2i2 but not sure if it’s an issue.

Should be fine. The Behringer UMC series are good for the price. I use an 8 channel one in my studio with no complaints.

Each channel in the 2i2 has its own gain control. Unless the incoming signal is incredibly hot you shouldn't have a problem. I've used the 3rd gen with a couple basses that have very different output levels and it's handled them both OK.

I couldn't say whether there's a better a better USB interface for your needs because this is the only one I've spent time with, but that's my two cents' worth on it.

If it’s too hot just turn the volume control on the Spector down. On an active bass it’s a complete non-issue to do so.

The 4th gen uses newer control software (Control 2), and on paper has higher gain and dynamic range. You might not notice the difference, but I'd go newer just to have a longer software lifespan and the confidence that the software is still being patched and fixed from time to time.
