Schecter Diamond J or Squier VM

Been looking for a bass for alittle while now. Don't have alot of money to spend. I was looking at a Squier VM, but found a used Schecter Diamond J at a local store It is the same price as the new VM. It also comes with a hard case. Are these basses good?

Yes. Of course go back and try it out. But in all likelyhood I'd pick it over the Squire myself.

Diamond J > Squier, IMHO.

I prefer the look and feel of them.

They are both fine quality, play them both and see what feels right to you. I like the Squier neck better but again that is nothing more than personal preference.
