For a newbie could someone tell me if the difference between the stiletto custom and extreme would make a huge difference for someone just learning? Was just wondering because of the price difference, enough to put towards an amp lol

Schecter stileto question

Construction wise they are pretty close, the only difference I can see here, other than the visual, is the pickup choice.
The custom series has the EMG HZ, while the extreme has the Schecter brand pickup.
The EMG HZs are passive pickups and not everyone here on TB is in love with them. I have them on my Schecter Custom 6 and I think they're fine, but then I also have a 3-band eq on my bass.
It's not clear if the Schecter pickups are active or passive, maybe just email them and ask about that.
Bottom line: IMHO, I think the differences are not that big of a deal. It really boils down to which pickup sound you like the most. I heavily suggest that you try both before you buy.
