Schecter studio 4 or ns pulse 4.can only get 1

Looking for upgrade.I play classic rock,hard rock and 80s 90s metal.which of these is better out of the box

I love my studio 4 in terms of comfort and playabilty. It has replaced my euro 4 because of it.

Looking for deep punchy lows and good mids.versatility for classic rock and old school hard rock and metal.does this fit that bill?

It’s hard to say because everyone has their own ideas about tone. That being said, I think the Spector had a punchier sound than the Schecter, but that was a Euro. Different body woods and electronics. I really don’t know anything about the Pulse.

Big fan of the studio 4. It sounds great for just about anything

I might be a little biased, I have the NS Pulse 5. Build quality is impeccable, very similar to my USA Fenders and Kiesel. The only complain I’ve heard about it is the preamp, the Czech-made Tone Pump Jr. It has weird control parameters BUT it definitely has the Spector tone.
The bass is pretty light too. Mine is a hair under 8 pounds, and that’s the 5er.

I’m also a fan of Schecters– especially the bang-for-your-buck aspect.
