Schector Stiletto Studio-4 - Adding an active/passive switch

I'm in the process of making this modification to my bass. My service rep at Sweetwater, Bob Mondok, modified the original wiring diagram to show me how to do it. I used paint to clean it up. It uses a push/pull volume pot as the switch. You are basically removing two wires and adding four wires. You can just re-route the existing tip hot output connected to the jack to make this a little simpler. Here's the diagram:

I was looking for this forever. All I had to do was ask Bob Mondok, the best service rep at Sweetwater, possibly in the world. Once he recommends the pot to buy, I will post that info as well, but it should be pretty standard. Hopefully, this well help another fellow bass player who wants the same capability for his Schector Studio Stiletto.

Parts are on the way. I decided to go for it and bought the passive tone pot as well. I'm going to start with a 0.047 orange cap, but I got a 0.1 in case I want to give that a try. Here's the final diagram with the new passive tone pot. It will be wired so it is active all the time. It may be just the thing to tame this beast when I need it to purr.

So I got up the nerve to install everything. It's pretty full in the cavity now, but everything fit. The passive mode works great and the tone switch really adds a lot of variation. I actually leave it just slightly off full open to cut to edge off the top. Drilling a hole in your bass is super stressful. I went up bit by bit. I recommend using diamond carbide bits, if possible, to get the cleanest cut. Here's the finished product:

I realize this is a two year-old thread, but this would be an amazing modification for my instrument. Sorry for my ignorance, but I thought these pick ups were active…? I also read that you cannot run active pick ups passively. I seem to be getting a lot of contradictory information.

I learned the eq is active, not the EMG HZs. I completed this mod and it works great! Thank you! The only issue I had was drilling a new hole…got too hasty and chipped my bass a bit. Not very noticeable, but I know it’s there🤣😬
The only thing I added was a ground from the case of the tone pot to the volume pot. Without this the tone knob buzzed miserably when I touched it.
