Schematic for the Boss CEB-3

Anybody got the schematic for a Boss CEB-3

I just picked one up and it should be here tuesday. I'd like to modded it for a clearer more transparent sound. I was just wondering what type of IC the thing uses and what the general circuit looks like.

ceb-3 is digital, no easy modding here like in an analog pedal.
plus i never seen a schem of that one anywhere.

I hate to exhume this long-buried thread, but it seems like a goos place to bring this up: apparently, early versions of the CEB-3 were NOT digital (according to the Boss Area)

The CEB-3 started out as an anlog chorus using a BBD circuit but was later redesign with a new completely digital design. It is expected, but not confirmed, that the circuit change took place October 2001 at the same time that the CH-1 and CE-5 was redesigned.

Assuming that the change date above is correct, you can spot an anlog CEB-3 by looking at its serial number. If the second letter, first number combination is P0 or earlier, the pedal is analog. This also means that all CEB-3s with pink labels are analog.

I'm currently on the lookout for one of these

I recently bought a CEB 3 second hand, not knowing about the pre/post 2001 difference.

the one I bought has a pink sticker on the bottom and, after opening it up, I can confirm that it is analogue!

not to doubt you, but we'd LOVE some gutshots of that

I can tell you that apart from lots of resistors, capacitors and the like it does have 3 dual op-amps (made by Motorola), a single chip clock generator and a 10bit D/A converter chip.

Watch this space for some pictures of its innards!

Hey all,

I overvolted (maybe reverse volted) my CEB-3 by accident and as you can probably guess it no longer works. Can anyone help with how I might fix this?
