I have a Schroeder 1210L and I love the cab but I would like a little more bottom end. For you guys that have owned or played both......how much low end does the 1212 add over the 1210? Also, do you loose any punch with the 1212 vs. the 1210?

Schroeder 1210 vs. 1212

The 1212 has a noticeably rounder tone, but the difference is not huge. Personally I prefer the 1212 because these cabs are already super punchy.
If you want bigger bottom you might also consider the 1515L. I sold my 1212R to get the 1515L because I wanted more low-end... also because the 1515L is 18LBS lighter than the 1212R. Can't wait til it arrives.

I've been looking at those too. I'd be very interested in hearing how that cab compares to the 1212 (or 1210) after you've had a chance to put it through it's paces. I love the way my 1210 cuts through in the mix. I wonder if the 1515L has that same quality.
I'm very curious to see what the 1515L sounds like. 2 15's in a small-ish box is still going to have that low-mid bump, which helps it cut thru. But being that they are 15" drivers and two of them... should be interesting.
So far reports have been positive from people who have them. I actually ordered my 2" higher to give that extra bit of low-end... and I should still be able to fit it in the front seat of my toyota.

The 1210R has more bottom than the neo speakers. I had the 1212L and I think the 1210R actually is a little fatter sounding. It's also about 14 lbs heavier though.
From what I have read the 1210R sounds very similar to the 1212L. A number of TBers have said that.

Ive got and gig both the older 1210R and one of the newer 1212L's with the new drivers in it. Different bands but both being run tihe MB heads and the same bass.
Ill go with BASSIST in that the 1212L has a rounder, more even tone but both are pretty similar to my ears. I guess not having a 10" in it makes the 1212L a bit smoother and i believe the newer 12"s have a more even response.

That's pretty much how I heard my first generation 1210R and my newer 1212L when I had them.
I think I heard somewhere (maybe an email from Jorg when I ordered my WONDERFUL 115L+) that he redesigned the 1210R and L, now putting the 12 in the slanted baffle and the 10 up front. I'm not sure what impact that would have on the tone, but it sounds like an improvement.
As I've posted before, the 4ohm 115L+ is just an amazing cab. It's more even than either the 1212 or 1210 to my ear, smaller, significantly lighter, and puts out about 80% of the volume of the 1212 and 1210.
In a recent email with Jorg, he told me that he uses the 15+ with a QSC PLX 2402 BRIDGED and it has'nt flinched!

It's just a great, great sounding small cab IMO and IME!
So the 1212/1210 will be more efficient?
I am looking for the most efficient solution for my Shuttle 3.0. Specs are 104db for the 115L+ and 103db for the 1210/1212.

i owned the 1210R, and liked the 1212L more. memory's foggy, but i remember liking the 1212 more easily. i guess the 1212L was more like you said "rounder". *shrug*

There won't be that big of a difference.
I used to own a 1212R and before I purchased it I A/B'd the 1210 against the 1212 on the advice of Dave from Ultimate basses. I found them to be pretty similar with the 1212 having a little bit of an edge in the bottom end department, but not by much. Both cabs still share the same dimensions so one 10" or 12" speaker won't make all that big of a difference.
If you're after more lows, you should look for a larger enclosure. Maybe you should try the 21012 or the new 1515? These sound more like a traditional larger enclosure and provide the extra bottom end and coverage you should need.
I owned a 1212 for 3+ years and just recently got rid of it because it lacked lows and coverage. Other than this, it never disappointed me or let me down. Its a very portable and efficient cabinet that cut through every mix.
judging by your post you had an older 1212 (sorry if i got that wrong).
The newer 1212L cabs not only have different tweeters in them (i think there have been a few)but also a different make of driver that has less of the mid punch the older cabs had and an overal more "normal" tone, especially compared to the older 1212 cabs.
My 1210R sounds similar to my 1212L but the 1212L has a much smoother tone, less mids and a nice low end. I have comkpared both with the same amp/bass.
Im not sure how the current 1210 sounds compared to the current 1212L and i do agree, one driver wont make a huge difference but it is there.
I sold my 1212R too and regret it.
While it sounded pretty dang good with the LMII I would of liked to try it with an amp that is very fat sounding. I wonder how an epifani amp would sound thru it?
At any rate I may buy another.
Epi's are awesome amps! I bet it would pair up real well with the Schro.
So far I don't regret getting rid of mine...my new cab gives me the sounds that the Schroeder could not give me..it was also a very clean sounding cab - some like it, some don't.
I do miss the portability factor a little bit, but its not as bad as I thought it would be.
I just picked up a Mesa M6 Carbine and wow this thing really opened up the 1210R. It sounds twice as big as it did before with the LMII. Don't get me wrong the LMII paired well with it, but it just sounds bigger, deeper and stronger. Of course the M6 has about 18lbs on the LMII.
