Scratch prevention

I have alot of gigs that I need to look sharp for , and the rest I WANT to look sharp -_-

Any tips to avoid scratches from coatsleeve buttons and bucklerash?

Or roll up your sleeves to solve the shirt problem, and don't move around much to solve the buckle problem.

I manage to keep scratches away - just think about what you're wearing, and handle the bass like you really care about it. Buckles can be shifted left, and standard buttons have very little potential to scratch.

Move belt buckle to the side when playing. Also, MF & GC sell a self sticking felt type "scratch pad" that can be placed or removed at will. No mess or residue, I've had mine for a couple years now. I highly recommend it.

Ha ive been messing with felt tape from the hobby shop all day. Seems to do the trick

Well.. Knowing several members of the gay community, including in my combo, I will have to insist that this is some serious misinformation. And a wierd, overtly homophobic statement.

But yea.... Uh.. Bucklerash, felt tape, bass clef etc.

It's not homophobic! I have it on good authority from a dear gay friend. Maybe its different where you are, but it's certainly true around these parts.

Maybe it was the rainbow tee shirt or the fact you're just plain ol' cute.

+1 on the beltbuckle shift. I also remove the stuff from my shirt pockets and avoid jeans with rivets. No matter what precautions are embraced, you're still gonna scratch / mar the instrument over time....all part of "mojo", I guess.
