what can i use to fill in and get rid of scratches? Polish? if so, what kind?

Scratches and dings are badges of honor for your bass. Be proud of them. Either that or hang your bass on the wall and buy an accordion.

OK, but if i use polish it will make it shiny,but not fill in scratches,correct? and what oil for my neck/Fingerboard?

It depends on how deep the scratches are. If they're light scratches you can probably use some finishing compund to polish it out. You can get some at an automotive parts store. If they're deep but not to the paint, you're probably not going to be able to get them out.

To really move scratches and swirlies, you have to take the bass apart, remove all the hardware and electronics, and buff it. Depending on what kind of clear coat it has, there are different ways you can accomplish this. I would consult a professional.

You seem to be getting ahead of yourself, friend.

1) How "bad"/deep are the scratches?

2) How many are there?

3) Posting a pic would allow us to give you better more appropriate opinions.

A professional refin can get very costly.
