Sealed cabs

Reading the thread about the Marshall VBA400, I saw that someone said Marshall's 4x12 was sealed. That got my thinking, who else makes a good sealed cab? Most of the ones I remember seeing are ported, and I've already preferred the tight response of a sealed cab.

I think all the E and HE ampegs are sealed.

Markbass now has the classic line with sealed 410, 610 and 810.

Just because a cab is sealed, does not mean it is optimally sized for the enclosed drivers.

If you can get the T/S specs for the drivers in question, you can use any of the Internet calculators to determine the optimal internal volume. My spread sheet calculates B2 and D2 for 1400+ drivers. The two common sealed alignments are B2 and D2. These offer the most flat response, and tightest transients, respectively. D2 is usually quite large.

If the commercial manufacturers do Sealed the same way they do Vented, they will most likely be too small. Designed to fit a visual/marketing requirement, not the driver in use. Too small sealed cabs behave the same as too-small vented: they produce a mid-bass boom, and rapid rolloff below that.
