Ionian play the major scale. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 in as many octaves as you like.
Lydian play the major scale and sharp the 4.
Mixolydian play the major scale and flat the 7.
Aeolian play the natural minor scale. 1-2-b3-4-5-b6-b7 in as many octaves as you like.
Dorian play the natural minor scale and sharp the b6 to to a natural 6.
Phrygian play the natural minor scale and add a b2.
Locrian play the natural minor scale and add a b2 and a b5.
This is parallel modes where the key stays the same and the notes change. The major scale box will help with all that b3 and #4 stuff...
Want C Dorian place the 1 over a C note and play the spelling for Dorian.
