Semi hollow bass ques

What's out there for decent and not too expensive (ie: less than $500) for semi hollow bass guitars?

I know Epiphone has a few (rivoli, casino, etc)

I saw an Ibanez artcore somewhere...

Might break your budget, but you could find a used Jack Casady. I hear great things about 'em. I think the Ibanez hollow body is around your budget. My friend picked up a hollow body Dean bass (I believe the model is called a 'Rhapsody') for around 200 bucks. There are deals out there.

Not really. They have good single coil pickups, but many of them give away at the neck body joint.

If I were you I'd check out an Epi Rumblekat before buying anything.

Ibanez has some nice ones too.

It's a little above your price point, but check out the Waterstone Indra. They got for $649 + $55 shipping.

I'd suggest a Rivoli but that's a bit of a one-trick pony. A nice looking one, though.

The DiPinto Belvedere is excellent, and sells for less than $500 used. The hot single coils with the semi-hollow body produce very cool tones.

Most of the violin shaped basses are completely hollow and I think the Rivoli is as well. The Epi Casino is a guitar. Looks like the Allen Woody fits your description and the Ibanez Artcore. Don't know what the DiPinto costs or how it plays but it is way funky cool to look at.
