You see so often reports from people getting poor service from companies, that I felt I needed to put up a positive report. Specifically for MDB Covers.
I bought a set of MDB covers, one for my Fender Rumble V3 500 combo amp, and one for my Fender Rumble V3 210 cab. I had custom velcro on bottoms added, all was well done...
Sadly however upon first fitment of the cover for the 210, I suffered a fabric failure at the joint where the flaps at the bottom of the cover are located. I have a colleague that is expert in soft goods for critical applications (Think parachutes, safety harnesses, pressure suits etc...) that looked at it, and let me know what the problem was.
I relayed the information to Mike at MDB, he had me send the cover back, and replaced the panel that tore, and implemented the change that my colleague recommended. He then quickly turned the cover back around and had it back to me.
I shipped to him on Wednesday, I had the fixed and updated cover at my door step the following Monday.
He's not super easy to get a hold of, Email seems to work, although I wouldn't expect a reply within the hour sort of thing... I get the impression that he is a one man operation, maybe a helper or two, but certainly no big corporation with an expensive front office staff to answer every single email or phone call. He does however respond in a timely manner for a solo operation.
The covers are really nice, perfectly sized, material is a vinyl coated ballistics nylon material. They lack the padding of other brands, which was fine by me as I agree with Mike, the thin 1/2" at most padding that other vendors will include at additional cost, doesn't seem like it would protect from anything serious happening. I was looking to avoid scuffs and scraped that come from moving my gear in and out of the house, and into venues etc...
So to sum it up, good product, good price, and very good customer service.
I am thinking I will be needing to call on him later on down the road for other covers as the need arises...
