I just tracked through this thing for the past two days.
I had never even heard of it - it's a $5k+ piece of seriousity. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Equinox--shadow-hills-industries-equinox
It was a live off the floor rock/improv band. Two guitars through vintage Fenders sounding great. Real B3 and Leslie. I didn't really look at the drums because they sounded great too.
I was playing my G&L CLF L2500 Series 750 - front pickup, parallel, passive, through my Noble Preamp, into the Equinox.
The roughs from the sessions are crazy how good it sounds. Super 3D. It sounds big like a Fairchild compressor but without the dynamic action impacting the loudness in the mix. You know when you're playing live and you play a line and grab a note and hang on it, hoping that it translates musically? This does that - I think it's something about the way the transformers sound as they transition from lower to higher levels and back down again... how the transition into and out of saturation sounds.
I don't know who else to gush about it to. I'll share some tracks when I can if anyone is interested.
