I wish this were a hybrid as it'd be closer to my range pricewise. It's nice that you're in the valley like me, too.

I've seen the used go from $2500 to $3200 or so, depending on the model.

Also, I'm traumatized from one of my low-brow gigs.

Well this is fully carved bass, not a hybrid, big difference, if a hybrid is what you are after, please look for one, no need to cast shade on this bass you have never played

No shade intended, it was more that I wish I could be in the range for a great carved bass like this.

I’lL shine some sunlight on this bass on behalf of my TB friend Hans Gruber - this is a fantastic deal on a high-quality Shen bass. Someone in the LA area should grab this bass.

  15. Surprised this hasn't sold. When I was looking for to upgrade from my laminated plywood doublebass, it was between one of these and a Christopher DB401. Went with the Christopher because it felt better to me, and that particular Christopher projected a bit better, but Shen Willows are awesome basses and this is a killer deal. Never met someone who owned one of these who had any problems with them. Best of luck to you, friend.
