Shielding a P bass.

I have a G&L tribute P bass I was going to shield. After taking it apart I found that the pick ups are sat on these foam pads that hold the springs. I take it these will have to come out too?

Yup, you'll want to get everywhere covered. The shielding paint is has in it is the cheap stuff like you get from Stew Mac. You might be able to get away adding to it but I would just work like it isn't there.

Thanks, I bought the copper tape so I'll cover everything in that. Made sure I got the one where the adhesive is OK too.

Just watch out for the edges of the tape. I seem to put a slice in one of my fingers every time I shield a bass with copper tape. Ouch.
