shielding pickups cavities: should I do it under the pickguard as well?

didn't own a bass with pickguard for a long time, so not really sure, how it's best to approach shielding on a Jazz.

when I usually shield a bass, I shield the control cavity and around the pickups (bottom and sides).

but now I have a pickguard, so I can apply some foil around the neck pickup from the front:
1. does it make sense to?
2. will it make pickups sound unbalanced, as the bridge one is only shielded from rear and back?

thanks
