Yep, just follow the instructions in that link I posted. In my case, the inland CBSA office was at the airport. So, yes, I drove to the airport, went to the CBSA office, presented my bill of sale, paid the assessed GST and got my docs stamped (you'll pay PST too depending on where you are). Easy peasy.

Intriguing. I’d pay the fees to not have to drive to YYZ but Hamilton airport is only 12 minutes away.

I’m interested to hear how this goes. Bass Direct has cool stuff, some with lower prices than elsewhere, so I may be tempted to order from them someday. When it comes to boutique-type gear living in Canada usually involves buying from abroad.

Here’s how it went…
They quoted shipping speed as 4-6 working days thru ParcelForce, which links to USPS. The bass was purchased on July 24 thru Reverb and sent to my PO Box. It was picked up from Bass Direct on July 26. The package arrived on July 30 (PO closed Sundays). I picked it up today, July 31, and it’s perfect.

So yeah, based on this transaction, I’d buy there again without hesitation. Excellent experience.

I just sold and shipped a pedal to a really great guy, soma89. Grant it, it was just a pedal but I shipped it through the USPS. It turns out that there were no fees involved and mostly just the hoops to jump through while transferring from place to place.

Since this is about shipping to Canada, one thing that I've often thought about was that most of the cities are somewhat near the US border. I assume a good many have a passport and may even have easy access to a border town. There are many mail box type places in the US that one could get an account/box to receive shipments. The US seller could ship to the mailbox place then the buyer visits the town for dinner and to pickup their package. I don't know if this would be legal...why wouldn't it be legal? I'm thinking that some of the commercial business might have an issue as they tend to like a brick and mortar addresses.

Just a thought.
