Short Scale - what's the attraction?

The first bass I ever owned was a '72 Mustang (only bass that was small enough for me at the store when I was 6) and it sort of stuck with me. I ended up selling it when I got a little bit older so I could buy an MM Stingray , and although I love my Stingray to pieces, I've always regretted selling my Mustang. Just a couple weeks ago I got the reissue Mustang and I love it almost as much as my original one. For me it's more of a nostalgia thing than anything, but the short neck is VERY playable for a guy with small hands like me.

I love the feel of the 32" scale. I kind of drifted over to it because of how much I like my Kubicki's more than just wanting a short scale. I have an Eppi SG and it doesn't feel the same ($300 vs $3000 might also have an effect:smug:)

My main axe is a fretless, which is the one drawback. My itonation stinks if I start jumping around the bass I'm playing each gig (Rickys, Spector, J-bass). Plays havoc with me since I'm only an average player.

I also noted that my chord work is MUCH easier (smaller hands) with the short scale.

Just my 2 cents
