Should I apply for a teaching job?

It's on craigslist, it's been there for 3+ months. It says it requires a certificate from a post secondary institution, I don't have one but I've taken comp. classes know my theory and have been playing for 10 years and doing session and side work for 3.

Should I just apply even though I'm not technically qualified?

I would apply anyway. Maybe there's a way that they can take you on provisionally while you get your certificate. They may even be motivated to help you out with your tuition in exchange for a commitment of a certain time period.
Chase the car-don't worry about what to do with it until you catch it-words of wisdom from my dog ;)

Except I'm not pursuing one. I've never had trouble getting a job without one other than say the teaching job I want to apply for. The nearest school isn't really an option its over 2 hours away.

Other than Berklee is there any reliable online certification? Or something I could just challenge the exams for?

I think Boston University has online degrees. I know they have an online Doctorate so I'm sure there are online Bachelors available somewhere (probably Music Theory or Education). I'd do an internet search and see what they come up with.
If you're in the middle of nowhere that may help you with getting the job because there may be no one with certification available or interested. You might be able to get a temporary hire and get Grandfathered in to a full-time gig.
