...or coconuts!!! :laugh:

I cant afford to buy anything else at the moment.

Without kidding:

A P- Bass (no matter which brand) is a great instrument to start. (no knob fiddling :D)

You want to change your sound? => Change your right hand position and/ or technic.

The F- word on the headstock won't make you a better bass player!

Only playing will do that! (practice, practice, practice!!!)

happy new year

thx! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

may the bass be with you

I have inexpensive basses that I like better than my most expensive bass. How you play, what strings you use, and what pickups you have are the three most significant things that contribute to sound imo and in that order. There are famous people rocking inexpensive gear, and inexpensive gear has gotten loads better in the last 2 decades. Laura Lee from Khruangbin plays an SX jazz with upgraded di marzio ultra jazz pickups with 8 year old flats and people rave about her sound. It ain't what you use it's the way that you use it.

All you really need is a good guitar, that's properly set up and of course talent. Squier basses today are more than capable instruments, the VM and CV are particularly good.
My brother won a Grammy award a couple of years ago, guess what guitar he was using at the studio? Yup, not a Fender.
No...don't tell me...let me guess.....Errrrm.....Nope...I got nuffin'......:oops:

Marcus Miller play Sire while Victor Wooten play Fodera.......but they own the same legendary status, isn't it?

What I want to say is, the true musician and bandmates should focus on how well you play but not how luxury you play.
