Hi, the other day with my band we made our first gig in the year. No news, the soundcheck was way better soungind that the actual gig. Not having monitors make us feel we where sounding bery bad without even having idea what was sounding to the audience, so i guess that's just mystery.
Going to my point, i used a very bad combo, ultra dark sounding. I EQ'ed through my tone hammer pedal to find out at the middle of the gig that leaving flat the combo was not a good idea. I couldn't hear myself at all. My tone sucked. Yeah, not having monitors i guess makes you don't hear yourself even more.
I guess, besides eq'ing with the tone hammer, i should have eq'ed the combo also.
I have a GK MB 500 head, not cab, just the head. Do you think that i can get more near to my tone and have some plus if i connect , in situations like this, my head on its line out mode to the combo in the place? Or there will be no great differences?
I am understanding day by day that my preffered tone may not be to easy to dial up live without some pro features that i don't have access to, i just have to get used to be more low endish and low mid than my taste likes (i like honky mids with body). But maybe using the head can help, you say.
