Looks like a good deal to me. I would try to get it for $300 but I wouldn't want to haul around 8x10s either. Remember everyone here has an oppinion whether they know what they're talkin about or not. I have never had a problem with Behringer products.

I'd be willing to bet that cab is built from particle board. Very heavy, and not too strong. Couple that with a poor reputation for driver quality, and I think you have a real pig.
I bought my first Peavey used when I was just 18.... in 1981. Just traded it off a few months ago and it still worked great. I replaced it with another used Peavey.

I have that Ashdown head, it's not a bad one, it really depends on if it is the EVO or not (if it has compression), but it only cost me $199 used from Guitar Center. The head itself is only $389 new from musician's friend - http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ashdown-MAG-300H-Bass-Amp-Head?sku=485030 - and that is the EVO with the compression built in.

Edit: Although, that cabinet does blow mine away, it has 8 aluminum cone Bugera drivers in it. Those drivers are probably worth the price alone, I would think...

SWR stuff is great, in addition to the Ashdown half-stack that I have sitting around that I bought, I have (and ironically, mainly use) an old SWR Basic Black 1x15 + Tweeter Tube preamp combo. 120 watts and it kicks some major ass. The Ashdown is gathering dust until I really need it someday, lol.

Alright, here comes the long anticipated reply to the thread full of replies:

T Bird: Yeah, I do know they aren't too reliable. I have actually a 15 watt practice amp from them, and the speaker has totally blown. I can barley turn it up without hearing farting noises coming from that thing. I guess me playing in Drop C at fairly high volumes (for that small amp) didn't help, though. Anyway, thats why I was hoping for some positive replies on this 810. I wanted something I could use at home, but would also be loud enough to use at shows. As I stated earlier in the thread, I live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.

Waleross: I actually like that idea. The only problem, is nobody really has anything out here except for the higher end stuff, which I unfortunately can't afford at 16. Do companies have deals on amps during the holidays? Last year I bought a few pedals and got a deal on them all out here, but I wasn't looking for an amp at the time seeing as I was using my Ex-Drummers bass amp and didn't need one. Would Guitarcenter likely put that Acoustic stack as a deal? Also, a little off topic, but I heard on TB actually that Acoustic was coming out with a new line of cabs, that we're the same dimensions as the B115/B410. I'm interested in a possible B115/new line 210 when I get some more cash. When can I expect to see the new line out for purchase?

Thankful birds: This is more the way I'm leaning now. Being 16, I can admit that I just wanna get this amp bought so I can start playing and practicing with my band without having to plug into our P.A system. Thats just how kids are. But I'm very thankful for a place like T.B where you guys can help point me in the right direction. Now that I think about it, buying that Behringer may have been a huge disappointment with the cones crapping out, and the head possibly having problems, so I thank you all for that... My only problem with the Acoustic stuff is that we don't have Guitar Centers in Canada, so I will not have a chance to try one out before I buy it. Thats actually why I haven't bought one yet, I've been eying that head/cab combo for the longest time now.

Bluesrx: I would love to, but nobody wants to ship to Canada, and I cant find anything that is at all close to me.

Vakmere: Again though, I wouldn't have a chance to hear it before I buy it. A while back I had a chance to pick up a Blonde Avatar 212, but I was too pick with the colour. Now reading up on them, I wish I would've just sucked it up and just bought it. The guy was letting it go for somewhere around the $300 range. I'm sure I would've grown to love the colour, too.

Thanks again for any replies. I'm really open to anything that is in the $400ish range, but it will need to come with a head, so if anybody knows of anyone that would be willing to ship to canada, or finds a deal online, let me know, please through a P.M or something.

1) Goods shipped into Canada from the U.S. (or elsewhere) are subject to hefty import duties. The prices that one sees on the 'net are not the prices which one actually pays.

2) If that which one buys breaks down, then guess who gets stuck with the cost of shipping it back for repairs...

Why not drop by L & M and see if they can hook you up with a decent rig which you can afford--even if it's bought from their rental dept?

They have payment plans available and have a vested interest in turning you into a customer for life...

Honestly I totally forgot about L & M. I've already set out my saturday to drive down there with my bandmates and take a look at some of their rigs. Will they sell the stuff out of their rental services center? Hopefully, I'll have to see.

But let's think about this in another way, since it's not just amp/rig related, but about all the MI related purchases.

The amp You have ATM is blown. You can't use it for anything else than home practise?

Until You have an amp which you can rehearse with as a whole band, you guys won't be ready for gigging.

Wouldn't it be better to buy a rig (doing Your homework obviously beforehand) than be saving up for something...or the other, for ages. And that rig won't satisfy You endlessly no less (GAS will get You ).
All that saving time You won't be able to rehearse or gig, unless you can borrow someone elses rig for both.

The bottom line for me has always been that it's better to play with crap than not play at all. Within reason of course.

$400CAN isn't the biggest pile of money I know, but it's hell of a lot more than what I had when I started out a few decades ago .

While You're at L&M ask for a dirt cheap (used) bass speaker to replace the blown one in the B-combo you have. Preferably one that has at least some T/S specs to help with the tuning calculations. I certainly won't advice to pump a ****load of money to that combo, but a working amp is always worth something, to someone.

Yeah, I figure I might as well look at every option that I have. I want to get the best gear for the money I have right now. No, I am not able to use that thing for anything other then home practice. There isn't even an option to mic it and use it at practice because really, it's a P.O.S...

Thats why I was hoping I would get some people on my side with that Behringer/Ashdown stack I could get, but I really don't know if I want it because of all of the negative things being said about it. I really don't know if it would be worth my money if I'm going to have problems with it in the future.

And my band at the moment isn't in the position to gig really. We had to drop our drummer late summer because we weren't practicing. We haven't played a show since late May, and dropped out of one on August 18th because my drummer didn't want to practice, that was why we had to kick him out. To make things worse, it was for my friends birthday, too. We already had posters printed, and everything with our name on it, and we had to drop out... So anyway, at this point, we have rented a drumset. I'm learning our material on drums AND bass, while we're on the hunt for a drummer, that way if we do get asked to play a show, I can fill in on drums, or if we find a drummer, I'm ready to go on bass. Thats why I want to get my amp problems all figured out.

I have an idea... buy the whole thing, play through it for a while, and THEN decide if you like the cab or not. Don't let other people tell you they sound crappy, decide if it sounds bad for yourself. This one seems like the top of the line. That's not saying a whole lot, being Behringer, but who knows, it might just be the exact tone you want...

edit: I just noticed the fricking thing is 176lbs. Holy hell!
