Show me some big cabs!

Hi there, I'm looking to extend my bass rig so if you can, recommend me an 810 cab, or 610 with near-equal volume, and 215 cab excluding ampeg 810.

I just sold my SWR Megoliath 8x10 last Friday and it's being picked up this Friday... I've only played through the Ampeg and I thought the SWR blew it away. It's a lot deeper and it's built like 2 8ohm 4x10 cabs so you could run it stereo, 1200 watts handling. It was awesome, but overkill for what I do now... so it had to go.

Not sure how the Eden and Aguilar compares... I've never tried them.

The Bergantino NV610 IS a 8x10 'frij' killer!! Go www.bergantino.com IMHO the NV610 is the best cab I've ever played thru! Ampeg 8x10 was my fave before it!! I'd LOVE to try the NV215.... but then I'd definately want IT too. Then I'd have a NV610 & a NV215.....ooooohhhh LOVELY!
I'd like to try the NV415 too...... on it goes...

yup, check out the berg NV's as well as the GK412. Aguilar DB810 would also be cool though I think its of the $ range. I would also check out the Mesa 6 or 8x10's and their 215, and also their Powerhouse 1000.

Man, those NV610 cabs look sweet. I wish I could try one out. What kind of power handling are they capable of. The thing is, I play in a touring country/metal band and some of our stuff is pretty fast on lower notes so the tens (and maybe 12s. I don't know, I've never played through 12s) are much more likely to keep up compared to 15s, even though I do love the big bottom a 15 can provide.

I'm torn, can you tell?

A commercially available cabinet? Shipping becomes an issue. Beyond that, you can go as big as you want. EV has a plan for a 1x30 that is 8 by 4 by 4 FEET.

I believe Ampeg had a 36x10 at a NAMM show a few years ago. EDIT: see post below

Acoustic made a 4x15 that was bigger than an 8x10. I'm sure that there are others.

Haha, it's not the matter of it being big. I just need good volume from a cab and it seems the easiest way to get that is an 8x10 cab.

The BErg NV610 is 4 ohms & handles 750w RMS. Handles My Fender 300PRO all tube amp(thats VERY loud & powerful) beautifully!!!! IMHO for country/metal stuff
The NV610 would be KILLER.

I have NO idea where I can get these cabs in the UK even though they are apparantley british.....

In the UK? No idea... Electric Amps makes three different 4x15's here in the US, though - see below for two of 'em. Matamp would probably not do it for you even if you were made of money since they seem to be sticking to their more modern low-wattage high-gain guitar amp designs these days.
