Show Off Your "Homemade" Pickguards

Love this thread! I've made many custom pg's and here's one of my oldest and still favorite -

Here's one I made for my Dingwall from quilted Movingue. I made a template out of cardboard, then transferred that to a 1/4" thick plastic sheet. I bookmatched my veneer and glued it to a 3/16" ( I think) basswood sheet. I then used a router to cut it out to my template. I then used plenty of danish oil and some polyurethane to give it some depth.

I didn't do the work...a friend did it for me.....Powder coated the control panel cover and pickup trim rings to black them out and made a matching guard from some leftover sheet steel (also powder coated)
