Here's a clip from my Deep 4 from last night. I recorded the band using an AT825 stereo mic into the Sony PCM-D50 recorder.

The Deep 4 is going into my 1963 B-15N and I forget how I tweaked the sound on the bass itself, but as you can hear, it's pretty upright-esque.

The Deep 4 sounds a bit different going into my Polytone Mini Brute, but I think the B-15N gives it nice warmth. It may even sound more upright-y via the Polytone; I like this tone slightly better.

My Deep 4 is strung with the bottom four of the Rotosound Tru Bass nylon tapewound RS885LD set (75-100-115-135).

For these gigs my Bergantino IP112 is overkill, but I'll probably try it at some point. I'll post more when/if I can.

Those big fat strings sound great! thanks

Hey, I stumbled on this forum for Rob Allen basses. I love them.

I used to have one and sold it a couple of years ago and currently on my 'I wish I didn't sell' list.

Any of you guys out there looking to sell an MB-2 4 string???

Thanks, y'alls have some nice looking basses.

I've attached my old one, as to join the posse.

Back in the family!
Got this morning my new Mouse 30 koa (ash body, koa top, macassar ebony fingerboard, f hole, matching headstock and fretboard extension)...I'm in love!
Pics coming soon!

Had a great casual over the weekend, and took the MB-2. (Walnut over alder, Macassar ebony over walnut...so you don't have to scroll back a few pages. :))

Lame iPhone shot of the rig:

Mostly jazz, but a little bit of R&B as well. Captured some clips...excuse the intonation, but I think they show how versatile the sound can be, based solely on the position of your plucking hand.

Used the Deep 4 again tonight for a big band rehearsal (first time sitting in). Everyone loved the sound - they were used to an upright player. The Deep has a nice synergy with my '63 B-15. I'm wondering why I didn't use that combo before this summer.
