Let's see your period inaccurate, scrapped together, whatever fits and plays Frankenstein's Monster basses. I want Peavey heads shimmed onto Fender bodies, weird tuners, crazy pup routing jobs, all that!

Aww, it's cute. One of several I've cobbled together:
Squender Mustonco: Mustang neck on a Bronco body, EMG Strat pickup, Musicmaster bridge, Jazz knobs, and Hipshot UL tuners

Me and my Franken-Hoppus. Carvin SB-4000 neck, custom headstock shape, on a Fender Hoppus body.
Last weekend another bass player thought it was some sort of custom job, and a guitar player I know asked me if it was a Moserite.
If by custom you mean "Cobbled together" than yes, it's all kinds of custom.

I have had a few hoppus' basses, was there a reason behind the neck swap?
I can see how it looks kinda Moserite.

Okay I'll play. At one point this was a Squier P bass, but what I wanted was the Stingray tone with the low end of a p bass. Did I mention that I wanted it cheap too?

This is actually one of my better executed bad ideas! The pickguard was cut to fit the new pickup using a small hacksaw blade that just squared it off, hence the notches for the original P bass pickup![]()

And we don't have time for no stinkin' battery compartment. 13 screws for a battery isn't my idea of fun, so I just taped it to the strap!

All the routing was done with a drill press and a chisel and hammer, I could take the pickguard off and show you the hackjob underneath but I'll spare youthis is actually my main player for the band I'm in, I named him Dr. Funkenstein (hence the mustache)

Seriously, when I created the thread, this is pretty much exactly what I was thinking.
