It was built by a Lakland employee for himself, a HEAVIER piece of ash w/ minimal finish. It's got that kinda finish that makes the grain kind of swell and stand out (??what's that called??)... you can feel the grain. Anyways, it's got a thick piece of purpleheart for a pickguard and another piece for the control cavity cover (fits so tight I have to use a jewelers screwdriver to pry it out). It originally had the Bart MM/J pups and pre, which I love. But I wanted a different flavor and had Carl at Lakland install Chisonic humbuckers (in MM covers), single/dual coil switch, and LH3 preamp in her.


Tha black DSed bass is also a rarity, built by Laklands head luthier for himself: 35" scale w/ abalone dots, and a Bart pre. LOVE this bass too!!

Thats crazy! Lakland made an abomination of a bass! But its really cool, so its okay. :D

And I was gonna ask about the black one next.. ;) Its a beaut too!

If you were to hold my P on a strap, you would be begging for the Ultralights. ;)

Trust me.

And the A bridge is for aesthetics as much as function. I absolutely HATE Fender bridges, period. I need something new, or Ill go crazy.

As for the knobs, theyre just aesthetics. Im going to use them to cover up the S-1 switch, as its annoying seeing I tap it on accident sometimes and it kills everything. Ill also be getting red FretFX.

Its a cool looking bass and cool pics. I seen the pic of the greco then thought of this thread then that pic of your bass cause that tort guard pops (the greco had a white one and it was blah). If anyone is interested a vintage greco p it is on music go round .com (Its not mine and have no affiliation/ its in Texas, i live in Iowa)
