PS: Wish I could claim credit for all the honest playing wear that's on it, but I bought it that way. My understanding is that David Dyson toured with it for a while.

if that is David Dysons bass let me say that it sounds amazing!! i have a videotape of him playing it with MeShell NdegeOcello on Sessions at West 54th and he just sounds incredible!! Best bass sound ive ever heard on TV..
In other news,,,, believe it or not.. im considering replacing my 635 with a 535 - im fighting the 6 and though i get around on it just fine, i sound better on a 5.. and i have to sound the best i can because that is how i feed my tribe-- heartbreaking because its totally custom made for me, but i think i ws born top ber a 5 player... decisions, decisions...

Hey, these all look like amazing basses and I almost picked up one a few years back through an offer that came my way. I never played the bass though. However, I was wondering if anyone has any sound samples of their MTDs? How's the B-String on them? What about their character? What type of bass are they likened to? Jazz, P-Bass, Musicman??? So many questions...

Ah, you grabbed the one from Bass Central! I had the pleasure of playing that one several months ago. That one and the Norm Stockton 535 are a big part of what convinced me to go for an MTD again.

And adrian, you're right, this ex-Dyson bass sounds pretty amazing. Not so dramatic to look at, but the wenge/avadore combination is great! My guitarist is in love, and doesn't want me to play anything else anymore.

Is that just the standard red pearl finish? I didn't really like the way Kingstons look, but that looks great (especially with the black pickguard).
