I'd post mine but it looks like everybody elses. still its a wonderful instrument.
Has anyone seen a Thunderchief in another wood? I could swear I saw a darker version.

The first Thunderchief I ever experienced.
Bought before Tacoma even had a hard case for the bass. I had to wait months for availability.
Mine has the Fishman Prefix Plus preamp, but I think the pickup is dying. It gives me very uneven response.
The E string is barely audible, all other strings are loud. It used to be the G string was inaudible.
I'm considering a K&K Pure Bass pickup to replace the stock one.

I have had that problem also. I have both Thunderchief and Rick Turner basses, both of which use Piezo pickups. It is not at all uncommon for the saddle to loose correct contact with the pickup which then reduces volume. There are some good threads on this at the Turner site:

I just sold that identical bass. Sweet and beautiful instrument. The finger prints and smudges are not a big issue at all. Probably less and issue then most finishes. It has a very smooth but odd texture to it. Very nice.
