Nice, Gary! Is this recent, or already in the stable?

I want to play that thing!I am... I mean, it is.
I want to play that thing!
That would be awesome. We could bring all our basses and jam out.It won't be doing any traveling, but if you're ever in Ohio, Manti...
... then we can raid @Jeff Scott's beer fridge, while we sit around the campfire, listening to Ric tales of yore...
Love the way a Darkstar P sounds! (plus the best bridge around)![]()
I'm a little biased - I am impatiently awaiting one of your white bass's cousins...Haha thanks! I feel that way too![]()
Wow, the wear on that bass is amazing! Is that original? The pickup spacing looks like post-72, but I could be mistaken...
The body is a little younger - must be 70-72 - it is untouched finish-wise, and appears to be all nitro. But definitely bridge pickup is closer to the bridge than yours.Wow, the wear on that bass is amazing! Is that original? The pickup spacing looks like post-72, but I could be mistaken...
Yeah man I think you're the closest - it has the newer pickup spacing - and the entry rout for the bridge ground wire is different to the 69's, so body is most likely late 69 or early 70's?...I do know the original body that was mated to the neck from the factory was destroyed by a previous owner with a belt sander. And the guy I bought the bass from firewooded the original body as it was beyond saving and was given this sunburst body by the guys at his local guitar store, who were vague as to how old it was. I am unsure of when the spacing changed...but I'm assuming from many pics of 72's it was around that time.Looks like an early '66 dot & bound but the long G saddle post sez '69 - must be a carry-over (factory parts)
That must mean the body is indeed probably from '72 or '73. Bridge on my '71 P is identical to this one![]()
