Just saw the video this morning and I am intrigued. However, I'm not sure what this pedal can deliver that my OC-5 and my SA C4 can't (since the C4 also has filter sections). Polyphony maybe? A less synthetic octave? (The filters?) I guess only the former would be of much interest to me, but I doubt I'd need yet another pedal on my board.
I'm eagerly awaiting actual bass demos with this though. The organ setting was pretty cool.
I tried a Pico POG. It was quickly returned. I like the POG 2 and the Micro POG, but the Pico has noticeably more latency, and sounds awful, with a mushy and indistinct note envelope. The filters and tilt EQ are nice features, but do nothing to offset the lousy core functionality. I wouldn’t recommend it if it were $40, let alone $240.I saw a review on Reverb from a bassist who was really disappointed in this pedal. It wasn't that he didn't like an EHX Pog on bass, just not the newest Pico version. I can't find any other opinions on it from bassists. As has been noted the demo shows it's use as bass to guitar sound or guitar to bass sound but not octave down from a bass
Any opinions or experience with it when used as an Octave down on electric bass?
No Treble and another bass oriented site announce it as a new product but don't critique it.
Thank you. I see you a lot on TB and really value your opinion. I need a small Octaver. The EHX Vintage and Moorer Tender Octaver v1are strong contenders. There is a Tender Octaver on Reverb I might go for. It's a bit pricey at 180.00.
There was one on eBay a few weeks ago for 130.00 but I was too late.
Another mini worth at least worth checking out is the TC Electronics Sub n Up mini. Not the best OC2 killer but if you explore the TonePrints there are some very usable and quite interesting variations some into the realm of synth. I mainly use mine with a handful of TPs that I find useful, annoying or amusing. YMMV.Thank you. I see you a lot on TB and really value your opinion. I need a small Octaver. Slight de-rail. How do you like the detune settings on this one? I prefer detune to a traditional chorus (think Digitech Luxe). Can the Donner do that sound?I've had good results with the Donner Harmonic Square pitch shifter for adding octave up and 2 octave up sounds on my boards. I have 3 of them if that sez anything.

The detune is interesting and does sound good, you are able to adjust the amount of detune with the pitch setting and control the mix using the wet/dry controls. I primarily use it to add up octaves for more content for the other pedals I use, helps to fill things out.Slight de-rail. How do you like the detune settings on this one? I have other pedals for down octaves but it is okay for octave down. The Markbass raw octaver sounds interesting too.
Do you use the Donner pedal for octave down as well as octave up?
I was lucky enough to score a 3 Leaf Doom 2 on the last drop and will primarily use the octave with it and a envelope filter. I don't have much room left on my board - which is why I need a mini pedal.
