shuttle 6.0 or gk mb fusion?

Fear not, Zach, we all have been there in one way or another. My first amp, in 1963 mind you, was a 1944 Philco tube radio with a 4x6" speaker....but I digress.

I tried the Fusion one afternoon in a GC in Dallas, along with a Little Mark II (MarkBass) and a MarkBass F1. I didn't have a strong impression, except that I preferred the Little Mark II and the F1 over the Fusion. I was using my '55 P-bass, which made the local GC bass guys all atwitter (in the peanut/literary sense of the word). They actually were gentlemen and very helpful.

What I guess I am trying to say, is that my GB Shuttle 6.0 stands up very well in terms of power and tones to my standards. Not that those are super high, but I have used a Crest CA6 power amp for a number of years--which is basically THE definition of clean bottomless oceanic power, and a series of middle quality preamps, with and without tubes, which have all performed well and sounded good, IMHO.

Thus, to shed something like 65 lbs. and still be able to drive one or two epifani cabinets hard, loud, and sweet, well---I am a Shuttle 6.0 believer.

No, I don't find it has as much power as a Crest CA6 (which I still have if I need it), but it has a good solid kick into 4 ohms, plenty of lows, and a wide range of ways to use what it has.

I'd keep an eye on TB classified for a used one (not mine). They go for well under $500 used. Good hunting! :cool:

Hey, thanks!! I was leaning towards the Shuttle anyway, I just wanted a second opinion. Those Fusions have the motorized knobs, which i think is a liability, honestly. I've heard nothing but good things about the whole Shuttle line, and it seems to be a very affordable, high quality product and a definite step up from the Behringer... even though she's been a workhorse, i'm gonna donate her to my keyboardist :) I really appreciate the help!

I am really looking to get a light weight gig ready amp head like a Shuttle 6.0 or 9.0 VS. GK MB Fusion and
cant decide which would be better or why? I play pretty big gigs 3-500hundred and I usually have 4x10's going and Need alot of Bottom pumping!

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS and REASONs.
