I realize that the 6 probably beats the 3 in every category (except weight?) but I'm having trouble deciding between the 6.0 12T and the 3.0 10T. I play with a jazz/funk/fusion quartet mostly and we tend to play a lot of outside gigs. I don't want to get the 3.0 and then end up having to upgrade later on, but I also don't want to pay for a whole lot of power that I'm not gonna use. So I guess my main question is, would a 3.0 be loud enough and could I get a decent sound from it if I have it turned all the way up?

Shuttle 6.0 vs 3.0

Just get a 6.0 and be done with it. 300 watts at 4 ohms is limiting especially in an outdoor enviroment. I think you can never have too much power as more power equals beter control over your tone. And at less then 4 lbs for the 6.0 and only marginally more moeny, its a no brainer.
Also the 6.0 will likely hold its value better then the 3.0 I would tend to think. I bought the 6.0 and its very punchy and loud.

These new lightweight amps are giving me serious GAS and the Shuttle 6.0 is so damn tempting. Problem is I've never played one.
Shuttle 3.0 should put a decent volume but only at 4 Ohm (when it outputs 300W). Shuttle 6.0 just at 8 Ohm load will push 375W. Basically the 3.0 10T without an extra cabinet will give you only 175W which may not be comfortable.
Perhaps it'd be a good idea to stick to Shuttle 3.0 but with a different 4 Ohm cabinet?

You should try the combos with an additional cab. Shuttle 3.0 should fit your needs (based on the style of music you play) but you will be limited if you only bring the 1x10 that goes with it. You will have anything but fun at higher volume with only one cab. Same thing if you choose the 6.0 by the way.
I had the 3.08T and sold it to buy another 6.0 head and use a singe 112 Neox cab for smaller stuff (375 watts) and then add the 2nd cab for larger gigs (600 watts). I really think you will be disappointed with the 3.0 combo for outdoor gigs. The best bang for your buck is the 6.0!!!
im thinking about teh 6.0 as the head to push my two epifani cabs....hmmmm. money pinch at the moment makes it tough though...i wish musicians friend did a 2 month same as cash deal for everything.
