Double Bass Silver Creek Electric Upright 3/4 Bass

Anyone ever played or heard this bass? I currently play a Club Bass by Gold Tone. Sounds great, not the best ever, but satisfied. Would like a little more acoustic sound. Thought the hollow body of the Silver Creek might help. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for sound and or tone from a EUB that is made in the "slim stick" body style (like the NS Design CR Series) I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

I have one of these accept that it is a Joseph Lazar. Same bass but a different name. What I find with this bass is that it sounds very acoustic and plugged in is as close as you can get. It doesn't have the Volume of a 3/4 size. But as long as your plugged in you can't hear a lot of difference. If you have more to spend get the Eminence and have the same results but a lot easier to move around.

hello nohandles...
I have just finished reading the entire Palatino VE-500 megathread and noted and enjoyed your thoughtful and considerate contributions. I am looking to buy an electric upright with my tax return and was all set to go with a Palatino when I saw a Silver Creek on ebay for just a little more money. I am a one gig bass player (blues band) with only modest means. I use a Fender Jazz but I love playing an upright. Feedback prevents me from using my DB in our band so I was looking into EUB's when i stumbled onto your thread. My questions are:
- Which do you prefer - your Palatino or your J. Lazar?
- Is feedback still an issue with the Lazar?
- Are they of comparable quality?
I understand that some mods will be in order if I go with the Palatino and can reference the thread for those. The size and of the Silver Creek is not a deciding factor for me. I would like a tone close to DB and the appearance ot the SC would probably suit my bandmates more but I have kinda fallen for the idea of getting a Palatino after spending the last week in the company of you and your threadmates. Thank you for your time.
