Silver Rose (Dwarfcraft / Devi Ever) anyone?

I find myself GASing over that pedal time and again.
The problem is, they basically never crop up used in Europe and i've no chance to test it anywhere close by.
So my option is to take a four-hundred-bucks-plunge into unknown waters or leave it.

I just feel that this could solve all my needs for Fuzz in one Pedal, replacing at least three pedals on my board, leaving room for other stuff.

I have one and I love it!!!!! One of the most versatile fuzz pedals ever. 2 separate fuzzes, stacked, with bias, eq and clean blend!!!!!

But. It's loud. Ridiculously loud!!!!!! And it's noisy. Loudest, noisiest pedal I've ever used.

It's an amazing, frustrating, pedal. It took some time to dial in the settings I like without too much noise. But I love it!!!!

Do you mean it has a high floor noise when active or is it also noisy when playing?

I can live with high floor noise since i'd put it in a loop on my bypass looper and switch it in the chain when needed.

Right now i have a Old Blood Noise Haunt Fuzz and a Big Muff that's in a loop with a micro pog and clean blend.

The Haunt can do wooly and mean, i have it set to mean, with the minimal settings (Mix set to 90% dry and fuzz all the way ccw).
That way, i have a mean, fuzzy distortion ringing with my clean signal, with all the low end intact and can, if i so desire, add the big muff combo which is just after the Haunt in the chain.

If i could use the Silver Rose to get rid of the Big Muff and LS-2, i could use the POG somewhere else in the chain and free some space on my board.

The remaining question would be if i can find the one sound i'd use with so many options or if i'll be on my knees, turning knobs after every song.

Getting rid of a LS-2 is always good for the signal flow. I'm not a fan of it's bypass. Deviever legacy pedals will often be wonderful in concept but frustrating in practice due to hotness or instability. The Ruiner is a case in point. Instability is great for guitars trying to fill space with "creativity" but bass needs some air moving solidness. DE pedals are hot so guitarists can feed back, or her own bass was very low output passive. I use high output passive basses and DE was a frustration. I used karaoke party as a overdrive, but set at 8am as low as possible. (it reversed polarity too which I found out at a recording session with a 2nd dry line)
If you can't get a better looper like Xotic or Wounded Paw, I'd recommend as ever, smallsoundbigsound TAFM. Their Buzzz in a loop is awesome too for more superfuzz fizziness. TAFM into Wounded Paw Attack Goat gives added fizz without a loop, they both have a clean blend. TAFM's clean side switch brings low end boost too. That and no LS2 padding and your instrument becomes more responsive.

i don't mind the bypass, because the LS-2 is in a loop itself I settle the Fuzz side of my pedal before the song, and stomp them in on my bypass looper when needed.
aside from that, i'm happy with how the big muff into the pog sounds. Nice fizzle. I've set the pog so you can't hear the distinct voices, but get the higher dynamics and the fat low end.

As far as i get it, the older Silver Rose units were made by Devi Ever and the newer ones by Dwarfcraft? Is there a difference then ?

The Silver Rose is a beast. It takes some work to contain, but sooo worth it. Andrew took the hit and sprang for one, and when I got around to trying his out, I had to have one. Sure, it is hella noisy, but that can be tamed somewhat using the bias control. A gate helps as well. Once you unleash the beast though, pure fuzz ecstasy!

I had one of the first run that came out, and I loved the tones of it, but hated the noise. It definitely is a beast of a pedal though, no doubt.

Not sure if this is relevant to silver rose but I know a lot of the post Devi ever made by others may be different in that Devi used different versions of the one pedal over the years and they only build theirs to whatever version schematic Devi have them... That and a few of the older pedals don't seem to be being rebuilt which is a shame... I have a 2008ish Devi Hyperion and eye of God but no idea how they compare to later... I use only active basses so never really got a good tone out of any of her stuff. Hyperion was good run through a blend or used with Wah but that's all I can contribute!

Their Silver Rose is different than the DE Silver Rose. The muff side is an Eau Claire Thunder, and the SuperFuzz side they've since spun off into the Necromancer. I think it is fair to say the pedal took the name of an old DE design and was inspired by it, but the circuit is unique (AFAIK).

Correct. Devi had no part in designing the new v2 Silver Rose. We didn't even have a schematic for the OG Silver Rose to work from. There were major design flaws with the original, so we started over.
