Simple EQ software

Does anyone know of any software that would be the equivalent of a simple EQ pedal?
A simple standalone app that I could use to EQ my bass? Not looking for a full blown
Recording app.

I've been collecting plugins forever, I have tons of great third party plugin eqs but I found out that the included Cubase 10, 10 band eq works nice for bass.

I still prefer usimg my cheap boss bass eq pedal when I track. Unless I am mic'ing the amp, It gives me the sound I like immediately.

I think the OP wants a stand alone, correct? To use the native Cubase 10 EQ, you have to purchase and run the Cubase software. It's native to Cubase. I have decent plugins but they are VST's so they have to be used with a host.

There are others out there but it may be more than what you need.

There is software out there to use VSTs outside of recoding software. One example is Cantabile.

Yes, standalone. But very simple to use with headphone amp.
Not for recording. Don't know if there is such a thing.
Might be cheaper to buy a pedal, but not my goal.

The one for Mac is $149.00. Am I missing something?
What is the difference to justify the extra cost?

Correct. One is a stripped down application to be run on a mobile platform, and one is a fully fledged application to be run on a computer.

I'm not clear on what you want to use this for. Playing bass live or adding EQ to recorded bass track.

Just adding Eq to my bass to play with some software like Transcribe or just practice with headphones.
Not recording, I can add eq in GarageBand.

Can you plug your bass into an amp, then send the amp's DI in post to your recording interface? That would allow you to use your amp's EQ rather than a DSP solution.

When connected to a computer I either play thru a DAW like you do in GarageBand - in which case you can use any bubbled eq or external eq you might happen to have - or I use Amplitube in standalone mode and use the FX in there. For you, the first solution is free, the second not. You can also chain plugins within other tools, as has been mentioned.

A third solution will be once my DI/Preamp arrives and I can tweak that rather than firing up Amplitube if I don't want to use a DAW.
