Simple Impedance Question, want advice!

Point taken...but I was discussing There is no such thing as ohm-age remark. That's all.

I haven't seen ohm-age defined in any technical book I've read on electronics, and I've dealt a LOT with resistance/impedance in my studies of filter theory.

It's not that hard to use the term accepted by the electronics industry, that's all. That way EVERYBODY knows what you're talking about. You can use "ohmage" all you want, but for the sake of clarity, which is important if you want your thoughts to come across clearly, best to use the accepted technical term.

Thanks for the tip Bill, I am wired in Parallel. I just figured it would be series since one cab went into another (and from my freshman level electronics class way back when that was considered a series circut).

Sorry about the omhage debate, like I stated in my original post I dont know anything about the technical numbers and terms of an amplifier.

So basically If I wanted to be louder I would need to get a bigger amplifier? (which is out of the question due to lack of that much $$$) or would there be a way to rewiring the cabs to get more out of them...like wiring them as 4 ohm cabs (but I would not know if that would be proper, running 2 4 ohm cabs in parallel with a 4 ohm head...or would it?) Thanks in advance.

If those cabs are 4x at eight ohms then each driver is eight ohms and your only options as far as impedance goes is 2, 8 or 32 ohms per box. That leaves you no options to obtain a 2 ohm load with your two cabs, assuming your amp can even drive a 2 ohm load. Getting louder will require more power, either with a larger amp or with a second power amp slaved off your present amp's pre out.
 
I know this thread has been dead for awhile now but I am confronted with a new cab hook up question. I have a peavey head that allows me to hook up four 16ohm cabs at once, or a 2, 4, 8, or 16 ohm load one at a time. I have three 8ohm Cabinets (2x12, 4x12, and 1x15). Is there any way I can hook up all 3 cabinets to the one amplfier head? (I know it probably is not the best idea, but it is an idea none the less). Or would I need to hook up 2 of the cabs and line out a second head powering the last cab. Thanks for anyone's help.
