Single Cut 6 String on a budget?

Can anyone recommend me a Single Cut 6 String that is fairly cheap in price. The specifics on string spacing etc are not an issue so much as price. I have some major GAS for one and dont have much money.

Edit: I'm not saying these builders make cheap instruments. I'm saying that these builders offer high-value products at extremely reasonable prices.

What exactly is your budget?

While the looks of a singlecut may be what you want, it's not worth getting a mediocre instrument if that's all your budget will afford you.

Realistically around $1500US.

I'd honestly save for a couple more months with that budget. That or get a double cut, which you don't seem to want.

A good friend of mine (and fellow TBer) hand builds basses close to your price range. Check his website: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] . He kinda got out of building for a while, but it wouldn't hurt to get in contact with him. Might inspire him to get the tools out again.

Don't let his pricing fool you. He only uses the highest quality materials in his builds and his craftsmanship is beautiful.

Just like Flaked Beans, I would recommend Spear basses. Good tone for a reasonable price

More like half that or less IME. Used Elricks can be phenomenal bargains for some reason.

The Elrick singlecut 6s are pretty rare on the used market, but I've bought/sold/seen them from $2400+. A few months of money saving and that $1500 can get up to $2500 pretty easily. Hell, I've saved that much just from eating and socializing like a normal human to eating ramen and being a hermit for a few months
