Check out @LowEndLobster ’s review of the P5. There’s also a Sire owners thread on here. I’ve had my P5 for a couple of weeks and I love it. At that price point you’re getting a lot for the money. It’s taken me a couple of weeks to conclude that the pick up lacks a bit of low end (again check Lobster’s review) so I’m considering swapping it out. That’s not to say it’s not a fantastic pickup - it is, I just find it lacks the depth of my other P Basses but it may be just fine for you. The real stand out on the P5 is the neck, it’s amazing! Just ordered a P5 today! As soon as it arrives, will give it a comparison to my Mexican P with Seymour Quarter Pound PU and post my thoughts....Played the P5 at my LMS last week and was sold on it! More to come...
