    Hello Bassists,
today my new bass arrived. It's a Sire v7 vintage in white. Fit n finish is great, neck feels super great but theres an issue with the neck pickup. In active and passive mode it is WAY too quiet. Much quieter than the bridge pickup and the neck pickup is higher than the bridge pickup! It sounds very thin and trebly. Is it the pickup or did someone mess up something with wiring? Have you ever experienced something similar and would you return the bass?

    Thank you for reading.

Return it or contact your seller about repair, yeah, that sound broken.

  3. I experienced silent neck pickup issue twice. When blend pot is all the way towards neck pickup there was no sound. Two different luthiers played with soldering and the issue is gone for now. This may be a similar issue with cold solders involved. If I had time I'd replace the wiring from scratch. Soldering is terrible on Sire basses. They are very amateurishly looking.
