I have the Sire Z3. Neck and feel are the main reasons why I bought this (was originally planning to buy a refurbished Fender Japan 1962 for almost the same price).
How is it? I'm also looking for a fretless bass though the first on my list is the Ibanez SRH500F due to the number of frets and semi-hollow sound.
I don't have a Z3, but if you like Jazz style basses, I think Sire does a really good job on them. I bought the fretless after fully enjoying my 2 fretted V7s.
I was actually looking at one as an alternative to my StingRay5. Mainly because my 90s SR5 weighs close to 13 lbs. Gorgeous sound, but if I could get close to it at 8.5 lbs, I'd definitely be tempted. Only problem is I really am not a fan of the available finishes.
Fair enough. Appearance is subjective. In my situation, I'm a fan of red and its related colors so I felt the rosegold body speaking to me.

Got my M5 yesterday, and holy cow is it nice! The B-string's nut slot was cut too low, but nothing a little electrical or metal tape can't fix. I got this one on sale at Sweetwater for $799, shipping and tax included, and it's construction and sound are like it should be at least 3-4 times the cost.
I recently returned a new Spector Euro LX5 bolt-on, that was extremely disappointing, especially at over $2600! My new Sire blows it away.
Nice wiring and shielding, too!
