sire v5 2nd generation string

FWIW, 2nd gen only relates to models by Sire which very offered way before 2018 (later called 1st Gen), like M2/M7/P7/V3/V7/V9. All models that were introduced later like the V5/P5 have rolled edges etc. like 2nd V7s but are not called 2nd because there was no 1st gen of those...

AFAIK, Sire had originally D'addario XLs as stock strings for fretted and Chromes for fretless but around 2020 changed to EB Hybrid Slinkies for fretted.
I don't know whether they changed back to D'addario later on. As announced last year, they now use DR strings.

Do you know which specific set?
No, all I know about this change is from Sire's website:

One thing we know is they're "round core", according to what's on their website...

What sets DR Strings apart is their craftsmanship. Their strings use round core, a traditional method that takes an extra step during production, but that step creates a more “musical” sound with warmth and depth you’ll notice right away. They’re also easier on the hands, making long sessions more comfortable for players at any level.
I was hoping for the Lo-Riders (hex core), but no such luck... :sorry:
