Skyline JO5 with Audere pre. anyone?

I've picked up a used Skyline JO5 with Fralin pickups and am wondering if any of you have installed a Audere preamp on this configuration. I like the idea of having a blend knob with three band EQ. My main bass is a Lakland 55-94 -- alsowondering if I should just go the passive route on the JO sinceI have the active/blend configuration on the 55-94.

I've had the Audere in a couple of Jazz basses, but not Laklands. Also owned a 55-02. I use to want a blend knob myself, but honestly, I think the passive volume/volume controls are great, and I wouldn't switch to an active pre just to get the blend knob. The Audere pre is very natural sounding, but the blend knob is not the same as controlling two volumes which gives more nuance IMO.

+1 - I agree. I think variety would serve you well. Since your 55-94 is active, keep your JO5 passive. I personally love passive basses as they just seem to fit me better. Both my Joe Osbornes are passive. I had the Audere in one of them as well as a J-Retro at a certain point. They are great in their on the fly tweak ability, but if it were up to me I'd do all my tone shaping on my pedal board or via my amp. With my bass, I just want to plug in and play.
