'Slaving' question

Hi Everyone, this is my first post here.

I just found out about 'slaving' an amp.
I have a 1969 Ampeg B25 50w amp and an Ampeg B2R solid state 350w amp.
I'm wondering if I could slave the 350w to the 50w to basically power-up the 50w and get that great tube tone?

Thanks, and I'm kind of new at all this, so if it sounds impossible...just remember I'm new...

:)

yeah you can if you get a dummy load etc.

I'm no expert by far, but the way that I understand is that the slave amp is not like the amp head. It's just power. No preamp and stuff like that. You'll need to get a slave or power amp. You then can use the slave jack on the back of your B25B to boost the power going to your cab. You might also do a search on here. I'm pretty sure that this has been discussed fairly recently on here.

PS - Here's something you can do to add a little more headroom and tone control. Daisy chain the 2 channels of the B25B head. Take an instrument chord, the shorter the better, and plug one end into the jack you're not using on the channel that you've got your bass plugged in. Then, take the other end of the instrument cord and plug it in to either of the 2 jacks on the channel that you're not using. You'll find that all of the controls not are usable at the same time. As I said, gives you a little more headroom and sound mixing capabilities.
