We're playing Sibelius 7 on our next concert, and as I was working on the bowings, I noticed something that had somehow escaped me (or was forgotten since) the last time I played it. There are a few sections marked with slurs both above and below the moving line. I'm trying to decide if the implication is that the slurs should be divisi, to maintain the legato character, or whether the long slurs are phrase markings while the shorter slurs are bowings marked by an editor.
If they're intended to be divisi, the lower part will end up opposite the upper part for several beats at the end.
Anyone have any insight on what should be happening here?
